Here it is at last, the definitive list of who’s coming. If you’re coming and you’re not on the list, please e-mail us. If you’re on the list and not coming, please re-evaluate your priorities.

Michael Hogan – A good friends of Sam’s from her college days. If you ever want to hear about her wild and crazy days, he’s the one to ask.

Isabel Ozanik and Jerry McKay – Isabel is a co-worker of Sam’s and Jerry is her husband. Isabel is partly responsible for Sam and Foley not waiting too long to take their honeymoon. When she and Jerry took theirs, Isabel was pregnant and they took their two-year old along. Thanks for the good advice, Isabel!

Nahani Arntzen & Azrael – Nahani is Jenny’s daughter and Azrael is her son. Arntzen trivia: Nahani is Sam’s second cousin, yet closer to her in age than any of her first cousins.

Anand Mani & Danielle Dove – Anand and Danielle are good friends of Sam and Foley’s. Anand is our only friend who has the gall to call us up, invite himself over for dinner, and bring along a salmon that he caught that same day. The nerve of some people!

Joseph Lynn – Once again, this isn’t a relative of Foley’s family, but Richards son. Joe hasn’t actually RSVPed, but rumour has it that he’s coming, and we sure hope the rumours are true.

Michiko Sakata – An old and dear friend of Sam and Sonja’s, and also a friend of Maya’s. Seeing Sonja, Maya and Michiko chatting together in Japanese is a truly beautiful sight.

Christine, Tristan and Max – Christine is Lloyds daughter-in-Law and Tristan and Max are her kids. After spending Sam’s 30th birthday dinner with Christine and the kids on Gabriola last year, we all admire Christine since it seems that Tristan and Max have the energy of about 5 kids.

Peter, Spencer and Alison Powell – Peter is Dita’s son and Spencer and Alison are his kids. Dita was Lloyds wife, who died tragically two years ago. One of Sam and Foley’s greatest regrets is that Dita will not be able to attend their wedding. They do know, however, that she, and others will most certainly be filling the room with their spirit.

Mary Donlevy, Bob Riddall, Lea and Lucas – Yet another member of the Donelvy clan, Mary is not only a good friend of the Lynn family, but also their family doctor.

Eric, Debby, Kurt, Lianne and Brent Rustand – Eric is another of Bev’s children, Debby is his wife, and Kurt, Lianne and Brent are their children. Eric, being the closest cousin to Sam in age, always felt that is was duty to torment Sam while she was growing up. Has she forgiven him yet? Maybe…

Glennys, Paul and Adam Pedersen – The Pedersen family are old friends of the Lynns. Simon Pedersen hereby takes over the ‘Best excuse for not coming to the wedding’ crown from Alison. From the RSVP: “Simon will be somewhere between the Gulf of Mexico and Kuwait, so will not be attending.”

Trevor Arntzen – Trevor is another in a long line of Lloyds sons. When Sam and Foley we trying to decide who to invite to the wedding, they decided to draw the line at people who could come up with their names by sight. Since Trevor finally figured out Foley’s name last year, he just made the cut. (PS. We dig the Gnome-mobile)

Fain, Tom, Derrik, Randi and Griffin – Fain is another of Bev’s children. OK, there are a bunch of stories we can tell here, but we’ve got to settle on the joke/truth about why it is that Foley chose to propose when he did. Basically Maya came back from visiting Fain et al, and mentioned that Randi really wanted to go to a wedding, and she figured that Foley should probably get around to proposing to Sam. This is what essentially got the wheels rolling for Foley. Way to go Randi!

Jenny Arntzen – Jenny is Lloyds daughter. Jenny is currently a student at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, and will be doing portraits of Sam and Foley for which they’re really stoked.

Tom, Georgina, Evan and Arnt Arntzen – Tom is another one of Lloyds. Despite trying like hell, Tom is having to duck away from the wedding a bit early to do his bit at the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I mention this because it amuses me to imagine Tom hanging out during the ceremony dressed in drag.

Holly and Stephen Foster – Holly is yet another of Lloyds children, and you’ll be surprised to learn she’s a wonderful musician and vocalist. They’ll be joining us from Vancouver Island.

Anne Lynn - Right about now Foley's relatives are racking their brains trying to figure out who the heck Anne Lynn is. Surprise, she's Richards daughter, and not related to the other Lynns. Anne stayed with Sam and Foley's on her way back to Oakland after spend some time on Gabriola Island. She's coming back again for the wedding, and for this we thank her.

Arnt and Val Arntzen - Arnt is Lloyds son, and Val is his wife. These two live just mere moments away from Sam and Foley in lovely Strathcona. Arnt makes good-looking furniture and Val makes movies look good.

Fred & Ann Forster - Ann and Fred are Foleys Family's Friends (yay alliteration!). Fred is a commercial artist who works with John and Foley, and he claims that John is the only client he's ever become friends with.

Gary, Bernette, Jesse and Lauren Cody - Gary is Kathy's brother, Bernette is his wife and Jesse and Lauren are their kids. Foley has always enjoyed spending time with the Cody's because he can talk about geeky stuff with Gary and the boys, but when he tires of that he can engage Bernette in a discussion about their favourite author, Jane Austin. Oh, wait a minute...

Graham Cole - Foley's Best Man and oldest friend. Refuses to do the traditional Best Man speech opting instead for a song. It should be interesting.

Cindy Shaw - Sam's Maid of Honour, and the winner of the prize for who came the furthest. She's actually in Vancouver for July, back to Sydney, Australia for August, then back in Vancouver for the wedding. Talk about dedication!

Garth, Pat, Aaron and Braden Rustand - Garth, son of Bev, is Sam's cousin, Pat is his wife, and Aaron and Braden are their sons. Alison, their eldest can't make it due to the shabby excuse of being in England at the time of the wedding. They'll be making the trek from Nanaimo, BC.

Sonja Arntzen and Richard Lynn - Sonja is Sam's mother and Richard is her husband. The fact that Richards last name is the same as Foley's is completely co-incidental, although it led to the possibility that if Sonja took Richards name and Sam took Foley's, they would have the same last name for the first time in their lives. They'll both be keeping their last names, but a cool story nonetheless.

Brandon Raines & Sandra Bruzzese - Brandon is the eldest son of Penny, and Sandra is his girlfriend. Sandra deserves a place of honour since she'll be making the wedding cake. She's an absolutely amazing cook, so we're very excited that she agreed to do this for us.

Ken Gracie and Phillip Waddell - Ken and Phil are good friends of the Lynn Family. When RSVPing Ken left the most wonderful and gracious message on our answering machine. When the pressure with organizing the wedding makes us wonder why we didn't elope, we listen to this message to get our perspective back.

Wayne Lynn - Foley's uncle (John's brother), who will be making the trek from Ottawa. Wayne put John up during high school, then the whole Lynn family for a few months when they moved to Quebec, then let Foley stay with him while he was looking for a place to stay for University. Needless to say, John and Kathy will be putting him up this time around.

Dorothy Smith - Foley's aunt (John's sister), she'll be coming from Toronto. She grew up with in a family with four brothers, and thus got the nickname 'Poor Dorothy'.

Leif Hearne and Lori Miller - Leif was Foley's roomate for years before Sam stole him away, and Lori is his lovely and talented fiancée (they're getting married two weeks after Sam and Foley's wedding). There are far too many stories that could be told, so we'll just let you all know that they're two of our favourite people and we hope that September 2002 turns out to be a fantastic time for weddings.

Maya Koizumi - An old and dear friend of Sam and Sonja's who taught Foley the most effective (although least elegant) way of finishing off a bottle of saké. If you've been for sushi with Foley and Sam, you've probably seen it.

Colin and Peggy Snell - Family friends of the Lynns. If you've ever been over to the Lynn household when there's construction going on, you'll have met Colin. He and John usually find heavy things for Foley to hold up while they bang away at them.

Beverly and Art Maize - Bev is Sam's Aunt (Sonja's Sister) and Art is her husband. The finest people on earth, and the first of the Rustand clan to RSVP (Fain, you coming?). They live in Kamloops, BC, and have offered Sam and Foley great hospitality when they've been passing through.

Sarah Burwood & John Hay - Sam used to crash at Sarah and John's pad in Cambridge when she found herself in England. That all got ruined when those two decided they liked it better in Vancouver, and moved over here. Something about a love of hiking and camping, and other stuff that Foley and Sam just don't get. We are honoured by their presence, however, since they aren't the biggest fan of weddings.

Sheila & Doc Maiorino - Foley's aunt and uncle (Sheila is Kathy's sister), who were just barely scooped by Terri for the award mentioned below. Foley to this day cringes when served spaghetti, as a result of having Christmas day lunch at the Maiorino's and stuffing himself with spaghetti only to discover that it was just for starters.

Terri Cody - Foley's aunt (Kathy's sister), coming all the way from lovely Lethbridge, Alberta. Terri wins the prize for being the first out-of-town relative to RSVP. Yay Terri!

John & Kathy Lynn - Foley's parents and one-half of the reason we'll be having this gathering in the first place.

Lloyd Arntzen -Sam's uncle (Sonja's Brother) and the band leader. A great carpenter, and an even better musician. Those qualities aside, his greatest talent is as a story-teller. Rest assured we'll be plying him with much wine to get the good stories out of him.

Christine Johnsen -A good friend of Sam's and bridesmaid numero uno. As the wedding gets closer and closer Sam and Foley are starting to get the idea of how helpful she's going to be, so we'll start thanking her now. :-)

Chelsea Lynn -Foley's elder sister. She's the reason he wakes up sobbing in the middle of the night.

Matt Kowalchuk & Valerie Coombes -Matt and Foley had a shared passion for many things that just happened to conflict with high school classes. Good thing he's a bright guy, or else Foley may have graduated without becoming any wiser. He's also Foley's resident punching bag for all sports both real and fantasy. (hey, it's my website, I can write the ending how ever I want ;-))

Martina Lang - Due to the unrelenting efforts of Martina, Sam got over her inital disgust of Foley, and learned love the boy. She then helped Foley buy the engagement ring, and plan the surprise *and* helped Sam buy her wedding dress. You just don't get any better than this gal.

Tina & Colya Kaminiarz -Colya teamed up with Leif and Foley to create the roommates with the strangest collection of names. If Foley is up to no good online, odds are that Colya is somewhere near. Tina, much like Sam, somehow tolerates all of this.

Maureen Donlevy & Peter Jackson - When Foley's mother Kathy moved to Calgary as a child she met Maureen and the whole Donlevy clan. Since three of the Donlevy sisters have been invited to our wedding, I think it's safe to say that they got along pretty well.

Lowell & Teresa Saunders - Teresa is another member of the Donlevy clan. If you give her a chance, she'll tell you endless embarrassing stories about Foley as a youth. Trust me when I tell you that they'll all be a pack of lies.

Joy Family - Christopher, Penny, Devin & Nyomi -Devin is Sam's brother, Nyomi is his sister, Penny is their Mother and Christopher is her husband. They're like Sam's second family and a great source of wonderful gatherings and great meals. As such Foley warmed to them *very* quickly.

Charmian Johnson - Sam's godmother, a great artist and master potter. If you get a chance to even be near her even for a moment, odds are you'll pick up some of her abundance of talent simply by osmosis.
